What's NewSaniCon SurveyWe want to hear from you. SaniCon has been online now for several years, and we would like to understand better who is using the site and how we can better serve their needs. Please take a few minutes to visit the survey and let us know what you think. The recent earthquake and tsunami disaster in South Asia has highlighted the importance of having an easily accessible information base for emergency water, sanitation, and hygiene issues. Forces that are increasing people's vulnerability to natural disasters and man-made emergencies, institutional capacity and response by the international community, the importance of proper urban emergency sanitation planning in post disaster recovery--all topics are touched on in our section on Emergency and Disaster Sanitation. Visit this site for the latest publications and links to practical materials for addressing these issues. Water scarcity resulting from both natural and man-made circumstances
has highlighted the fact that in many parts of the world"wastewater"
is simply too valuable to waste. SaniCon's section on Wastewater
Reuse explores the possibilities of agricultural and aquacultural
reuse of wastewater and includes an extensive list of on-line resources.
In addition, some of the latest publications
deal with topics including the economics of water, guidelines for water
reuse, wastewater use in urban agriculture, and water recycling in Australia.
